i want to start to get more involved in my wheelchair community, and i want to do some sports. i know of basketball and tennis. im gonna join a team for basketball but i want to know of all the other wheelchair sports out there. i wanna try them all.

Please tell me of any that you might know of.

I live in md and really do not know of any in New York, but the rehab center I was at had a local support group for people with spinal cord injuries. Maybe you could find something like that. Other wise I hope you can find something.

I know that our local chapter of the Paralyzed Veterans of America sponsors all kinds of events. They have everything from fishing to bowling to quad rugby.

im trying to find paraplegic tennis and swimming teams in florida but im having a difficult time finding anything. if u know of any in florida please let me know. :D

I am advocating for wheelchair mushing but it would not be a sport where you meet lots of other wheelchair persons. At this point, it appears that very very few wheelchair persons participate in this sport/activity. But if you have an interest in horses, you might also have an interest in training a dog to pull you (you can go lots of places with a dog that you can't go with a horse (and visa versa I guess)).
