Hello all,

Well I have my powerchair and it is quite amazing. Now I need to locate a vendor who has a good reputation in my area to make the modificationns necessary to put me behind the steering wheel. I will be going to Ruston, La for my driving assessment and certification. They will give me a list of vehicles that could be modified to accomodate this powerchair. Once I decide which vehicle I prefer then I am responsible for purchasing it and then there is a program (Grant) through the State of LA that will pay for all modifications necessary for me to be able to drive it.
I was wondering if anyone has any first hand experience with a vendor in LA they would recommend. Upon approval from my insurance Co., I used Airway Home Medical Equipment out of Lafayette, LA to purchase the powerchair from Heartway Medical Products CO.,LTD.

Once I am certified to drive with hand controls then I will choose and purchase a vehicle based off their recommendations and then the LA Workforce Commission will pay for ALL modifications.

Does anyone have any recommendations of companies in LA for the modifications?

Also, any advice/guidance would be greatly appreciated.

KK

PROGRESS FINALLY!!!!! :recourse: :recourse:
