Hey, I've been trying to heal a deep PS, using plastic surgeon(wound care clinic)advice. The sore seemes to get better when I stay in my chair instead of lying in bed. It also seems as though the prescription/woundcare procedure sets the healing back. :head_brick_wall-1:
**my question, have any of you had/have a deep wound stage 3/4 and been advised to use dakin's solution to pack the wound? if so what r your results?

Thank you...

I haven't had any MAJOR ones so I don't have any advice or "pearls of wisdom" as to how to get through it. :dunno:

But I do wish ya all the luck in the world & will keep my fingers crossed it does start getting better.

They stuffed a lot of different things in that hole in my butt,,,, no,, the OTHER one,,, but none were successful. Turned out that my body didn't deal well with a lot of the adhesives used. Finally I went to a wound care specialist,, who ask immediately why I hadn't been put on a WoundVac. It took a while,, but the thing finally healed. No surgery, but some pretty bad scarring. No recurrence for almost 4 years ( knock wood).

If you have the sore on your tail bone,, then lying down on your back is the WORST position. Sitting up, generally puts little or no pressure there.

Good luck, ,, but get a GOOD wound care physician.

I just got rid of a pressure ulcer which was about 2.5" diameter. (6.35 cm) All I used was Microcyn, a moisture barrier and a 4" X 4" bandage. It took a while but never, ever had any sign of infection.

Good luck.

Yes thank you.. These people suggested woundvac early on, but my medical would not cover. i've been taking vitamins, supplements and drinks... It still continues to stay the same. But i did have 1 on the cox/ tailbone that heald quickly after adjusting roho cushion.

Did they also suggest for u to be off of it? Do you remember the treatment? i.e. change dressing 2x's daily

I've had the wound vac for a couple of different wounds, and it work wonderfully. You are not bed bound at all. I'd try to get the insurance to cover it now since other things aren't working.
