Hi there, does anyone know of wheelchair accessible accomodation near Salisbury? My mother-in-law stays in Fovant but has moved to a smaller house there. I know I can't use her toilet and I don't know if I can even get into the house, so I am looking for a B&B, hotel, or other to spend one or two nights in so I can visit her.
I found a hotel (The Grasmere) but that looks very expensive and the photo of the grab rails by the toilet don't look suitable for me (I prefer horizontal bars rather than these angled ones).
Sorry if this post is in the wrong place.
I'd be glad for any advice - thanks.

Hi there,
I've stayed at Websters B&B http://www.websters-bed-breakfast.com
They are situated right in Salisbury, the room I stayed in was called woodford, it has a wheel in shower and the breakfasts are truly scrumptious!
Hope that helps.

Thanks Debs, I phoned them up and we had a chat about grab rails and such like but they couldn't remember if they had a grab rail on the wall as well as the swing up one at the right hand side so they will get back to me. I saw a photo of the loo on their website but the grab rail that I hope they will have was not in the shot. It looks like a nice place and quite close to Fovant. I will let you know how I get on. Thanks again.

Hi debs, I had a lovely night at Websters. The room was great, we just moved the bed over a bit to allow me to transfer from my usual side. The toilet was great too and the telly was up high so I could watch it from bed without getting a sore neck. Will def. go there again. thanks.

Hi
I realise its some time this this thread was posted but you might also be interested in this accommodation in Salisbury, particularly if you like to stay in a pub !! I haven't tried it myself but here is what Accessible South West says about it :-
City Centre location.
Ramped access to restaurant.
Two twin adapted bedrooms are available.
Dating back to the thirteenth century and the building of Salisbury's ancient cathedral, the Best Western Red Lion Hotel is not only surrounded by history, it is also a part of it. The Hotel is situated in the city centre, parking spaces must be arranged in advance. The entrance to the hotel is level, the lounge and bar are open plan and also level. There is a ramp to the restaurant. The hotel also has an accessible unisex WC and a lift. Two twin bedrooms are available for disabled guests, with handrails in the bathroom and space by the WC.
