If you have puss get checked, hopefully Dr will send you to a chiropodist. I had major issues initially (first 3-4yrs) of ingrowing toenails, causing sweating and puss/infection. If infection spreads you could lose your toe or worse! I would say, my big toenails esp have slowed in growth now but been injured 28yrs........ best solution is to have toenails packed (sterile cotton wool between nail and toe to stop digging in etc)

First, what everyone else has said about seeing a Dr. X2. If the infection gets into your blood stream, well, not good.
Second, I think the slow growth is due to the fact that we tend to have poor circulation in the areas that are paralyzed. I've also heard/read that we lose calcium over time, but my Dr. says the effects of that don't show up for a long time, 20 - 30 years.
Why are you still reading? Call the Dr. already!!!!

It sounds like your toenail is possibly ingrowing and the pus is a possible sign that it is infected. If this is the case then your G.P can refer you to a podiatrist/chiropodist, alternatively if you don't want to wait I private state registered Chiropodist/Podiatrist will remove it. I know that some SCI'd people have to have this procedure done on the spinal unit due to autonomic dysreflexia so give them a tinkle and run it by them.
I hope this helps!
