Oops, Just Remembered My 20Th Cripaversary!

All year I've been saying "I'll have to pop a bottle of bubbly if I make 20 years post injury", so what do I do, I forget it!

It was 20 years on the 2nd of Jan since I had my accident.

Oh well, guess it's not that important anymore, which I guess is kind of good really.

Karen said I'll have to pop a bottle when I'm 21!

For my 30th I splurged, bought a 24yr old bottle of my favorite Tequila; it was $100+ USD; I'm still sipping it, it's as smooth as good brandy. Simon...get what best tickles/satisfies your palate, it's your milestone, celebrate it :dancegirl:

You're not the only one Simon, I did the same thing....forgot all about my "gimpaversary". :mfrlol: But like you said...spose it's a "good thing" that G-DAY (Gimped-Day) doesn't seem to be AS important as the years & decades ROLL on. :cheers:

Well, I feel you, i didn't even think about that until just now! My SCI was in '89-I was 15 the star football player of the whole city
One would think your friends who elevated you would be by ones side... especially during the time in rehab or after @ home. None of them ever came to a party or called. thus i figured i'm in this alone with family. So, I guess my injry day is for me to remember what i have gone through & cameout of. Perhaps it became unnecessary :nopity:

Congratulations!! January 2nd was on Monday and SINCE it wasn't on the weekend and you really don't want to celebrate early ... I say open that bottle anyway! 20 yrs. is definitely something to be proud of and a celebration very much deserved so GO FOR IT!

Count the votes Simon! I'm with those who say celebrate anyway. Actually the whole year makes 20 years, so you could have a drink every night.

oh man, that just reminded me, i turned 21 in '11, darn missed it, somehow i think i probably popped a few brewskies, it was april 29th, so it was start of summer..........time for a cold one :) congrats on the 20 there Simon, hope you get 20 more !!
