Has anyone traveled by train? We are in SO. Calif. and would like to travel from O.C. to San Diego and maybe take in a baseball game, but have also wanted to try the tr. We woild love to take the train where you can travel the length of the US/Canadian border.

we have looked into taking a train trip too. What we found out is there is handicapped accessible places on the train but you are limited where you can go once on the train. Transferring between cars is impossible. We looked at a sleeping cart and they have like 1 or 2 per train they are still kind of tiny but atleast my husband could get out of his chair and rest on overnight trips. If you are close to the train station you can always go and ask them to let you see if it is accessible enough for you.....they have to let you look....

I've taken some day excursions, dinner trains and all, getting on and off the cars is never an issue, but like KK said, you are in the car you board for the trip, unless they have a plank or something to cross between cars....
