If you haven't already, try the US social security admin. for disability, united way or local adults w/disabilities agency. Even your college may have some scholarship funds available for room & board.

Depends, Blake,, on where you live. Some states also have Ocupational rehabilitation agencies. Pennsylvania is one of them,, but there are others. They will help with schooling, transportation,, housing,,, really a pretty good deal, if you stick with the program,,, but,, they WILL kick you to the curb if you screw it up.

Medicare and Medicaid are also there. Where do you live? USA is pretty vague.

I've tried doing some research and haven't come up with much. I've bugged Voc Rehab and they wont assist me with anything other than the cost of books. Also, I wont qualify for medicare for another 24 months (I've been paralyzed 6 months). I live in the south central area of Kentucky and am open to investigate anything you come up with!

I would check with Vocational Rehabilitation again. When I was first injured in 1967, they sent me to Warm Springs, Ga. for rehab and then to Georgia Rehabilitation Center for a year for training in bookkeeping. At the age of 63, they paid for the modifications ($22,000) to my van so I could get to work. Try to find a case worker close to your age and be very nice to them.

Good luck.
