I'm interested in something that could mount on my chair. Anybody got any info? I'd like to shoot independently again.

We made a mount that bolts under the seat frame. It has a square tube receiver like a trailer hitch. The gun mount slides into the receiver. I'll make a video to show you. Give me a few days to get it done.

That sounds like the exact kind of thing I'm looking for! Let me know when you get the video up.

I have a friend, Greg,, who happens to be a quad ( his way of describing himself)... who loves hunting,, and has a blog about a lot of it. You can look at it, or contact him through it. I won't give his email address without his permission. He uses a shooting rigs that has a base that slips under his cushion, and has a receiver that comes up between his legs. The shooting rig attaches to the receiver. Nothing attaches to the chair,, and he can transfer it to any chair that has a flat seat under the cushion.

Here is his blog address. www.pittrehab.blogspot.com

I'm not sure if you got my private message, Kodie, but there may be better built and more affordable gun mounts/rigs.

Hey guys, Deadeye here. First post. ScottC4-5 emailed me about gun rests for quads today so I thought I'd jump in and show you what I use. I've been involved in the Wheelin' Sportsmen program here in Virginia for 9 years now and helped out with the Buckmasters program before that. I designed this gun rest about 5 years and love it. Let me know if you have questions or shoot me a PM.

That's a nice rig. Do you use anything special for the trigger?

Deadeye, I sent you a PM.

Scott, I got your PM. Thanks for the info.

Avid Fisher, that's a nice looking setup but I'm mainly needing something that supports the forearm of the gun and something that I can swivel myself to aim the gun.

I'm a C5 but I have very good use of my arms. My only problem is that I can't hold the firearm up and pull the trigger both together. I use a shooting stick at the moment and stabilize the rear of the gun with my right arm and pull the trigger with my left thumb. The problem with using the shooting stick is that someone has to hold it upright, keep the gun from recoiling out of the U rest thing and pretty much aim it for me (which I HATE). Deadeye's rig looks like the type of thing I'd need.

Avid, I've tried lots of different methods over the years but prefer to use as little adaptive equipment as possible. On my rifles I have the trigger pull lightened down to anywhere from 1.8 to 3 lbs depending on the gun. I use the fingers on my left hand to pull the trigger as in the pic below.

It was nice meeting up with you too, Robin. I hope your trip to Nashville went well. The gun rest works out exceptionally with my hunting rifles but not very good with my tactical guns haha. I think I'm going to have to modify it a tad bit. Other than that, it's everything I could want! I'd like to thank you for taking the time to drop it off to me. Hopefully one day I'll make it up to Virginia and we can shoot! I'll be sure to get a picture up as soon as I get time and it warms up a bit!

Pleasure to meet up you and your family too. I'm glad it's working out for you. I had a great time in Nashville and a breeze of a drive home. Made it in 8 hours averaging almost 70. Hammer down!

I don't have any black guns so that's one weapon I haven't tried in my rest. Is the clip interferring? If so, you should be able to cut two pieces on flat iron and offset the gun holders up top to the left or right, whichever you prefer. They shouldn't need an offset more than 1" or 1 1/2". Even being offset, it shouldn't decrease the strength or stability. You've got my email, shoot me some pics the next time you shoot.

Wow! You did have the pedal down! Yes, the clip and the pistol grip are interfering. I've shot my 270, 10/22 and my 870 with it and it's very impressive! When I get time I'll snap a few pictures of how it holds my AR and other guns and email them to you. I kinda have an idea of what mods might work. Anyways, I'll get those pictures to you as soon as I can.

Hoping a converted/modified Saiga 410 is in my near future :D. Not this exact one, but something similar. Adding a front vertical grip will work for me, but the PROBLEM is finding a reasonably priced bite trigger. The one's from BeAdaptive for $180 seems waaaaaay outrageous?

Anyone have less expensive solutions for a bite trigger or point me in the right direction?

I've done a lot of research & think this Saiga will fit my needs, ability, WIFE & a heck of a lot of fun!!
There is a bunch of user info. here if others are curious or interested.

Thanks...first post & just stumbled onto this thread.

Bjack, Timney Triggers has designed the best bite trigger I've seen. It's not on the market yet, but is supposed to come out in early summer from what I'm told. I'm not sure of the cost but it's very similar in design to one I made roughly 10 years ago. The sent me a message over the weekend to call them but I haven't had a chance yet. Their design is similar to this one of mine.

Please post pic's of Timney Trigger's when you get them.

Thanks all for your help.

I went to the range yesterday and tried out my gun mount. There were a couple things I need to change, but it worked fairly well. You can view my shooting highlights here:

Nice rig,,, but I was dismayed to see the utter disregard for range etiquet and safety by some of the people sharing the range with you. Particularly the guy that stood forward of your shooting bench, leaning against the post, to shoot.

At the range I frequent,, he,, and a few others in your video, would have been asked to leave. As much as I support the second ammendment,,, it seems there are some who really shouldn't "bear" arms without supervision.

Yeah, I was annoyed and totally agree. I got pelted with casing from the guys on my left and had people on my right throwing skeet across my way. There is no one with authority that monitors that range. I'm looking to get into a private range/club that is actually closer than that one.

I would have said something, but getting into an argument with armed rednecks isn't exactly a good idea. :)

We totally agree on the " don't argue with armed redneck" position. Right up there with " Don't argue with a drunk redneck".

Combine the two,,,, been there,, seen it,,,, still trying to forget it.
