I have noticed I have severe bruising on butt is this something to be worried about.
I am worried that this could be the start of a pressure sore.
what can I do to prevent this

Mike,
If there is swelling, redness or a break in the skin, or the bruised area is warmer to the touch than the surrounding skin, then I would try to keep the pressure off of the bruised area. It also depends if the bruised area is on a part of the butt which is pressure bearing as to what precautions to take.
It could be that you have banged it when transfering, maybe catching yourself against something hard like a wheelchair wheel, or a car door frame when transfering.
If you are worried, and notice a worsening of the area, I would seek medical advice from a doctor.

My daughter has a 5 inch bruise on either side of the spine on her middle back. There is no heat to speak of, but she did complain that her back was hot about a week ago when there was no sign of bruising.
