My husband is having a few problems and is waiting to have Urodynamics in 4 weeks time.He normally wears a Conveen, but because of voiding and problems passing his consultant has advised an IC silver catheter, untill he has tests to sort it out. The last time he used one was 5 years ago, and it kept leaking, he had real problems with it.Has anyone got any advice, as its being fitted tomorrow

If you have problems with leaking then you can always go up a size or 2 or experiment with the balloon sizes (I assume you are talking about indwelling catheters) Is he on any bladder spasm meds? The bladder can get irritated with indwelling caths, especially if he is not used to them. If it proves a problem then this could be a plan.

If it turns into a longer term problem then a supra pubic catheter may well be the way to go

He is on a low dose of oxybutinin at the moment, but may need to up it
