Hello. My boyfriend, Nick is a C6-7 quad. He has all of his feeling back now, but still has no movement. I was just wondering if there is anyone else out there who is in a similar situation. The reason I ask is because he goes to the emergency room once a month to get his cathiter (supa-pubic) changed and they have to give him massive amounts of pain medicine since he has grown so immuned to it. I know that can't be a good thing. Another problem is that his Medicare/ MedicAid isn't wanting to pay for anymore ER visits unless they are actual emergencies. They can't change it at his regular doctor's office because they don't give him the pain medicine and we certainly can't do it at home. I guess I am just wondering if anybody else with feeling uses a supa-pubic, and if so, how do you go about getting it changed.
