I was in a multi-vehicle collision on the highway (one vehicle being a tandem tankard truck!...who was at fault), 4 years ago this August 14.

Single vehicle MVA, as the passenger, driver (who was a friend) didn't make it.. 1.5 years ago... some days it seems like its been forever, others seem like it wasn't that long ago.

May 2006, Classic drunk teenage diving accident, C3/4 complete. I don't have any movement or feeling from the top of my shoulders down, but I am FINALLY off the vent during the day.

A one of/combination of Devic's Disease-Transverse Myelitis-Multiple Sclerosis......take your pick, the Docs didn't know, my neuro still not a 10% on diagnosis! Anniversary is 11 Aug 04....nearly three years!

It's been 8 yrs and 5 months now..sounds so long but doesn't feel it.

I have been a para for almost 17 years. My level is T11-12 as a result from a fall while sleepwalking.

Multiple of falls over a lifetime. Discovered 1 year ago that the disc between T10-T11 was squashing my spinal cord. Kept loosing my balance to point where I could barely walk. After Laminectomy can now walk a short distance on crutches.

Apparently I was lucky enough to walk around with a malformation of blood vessels on my spine at the T2 level for 53 years before it decided to engorge with blood and due to the compression, paralyze me just a little over 3 years ago.

5 October 2006, was riding my bicycle home from the movie "Open Season" (haha). Hit-and-run at roughly 60mph from behind...I was lit up like christmas with flashing lights, reflectors, the works.

Will be a year in a couple of months....

In three months, it'll be 40 years since I became a quad. I'm considered a C 4/5. Like is different, but it sure is worthwhile. I can "reach" someone maybe nobody else can; simply because of my disability. My life has purpose and meaning. I don't know how I could do it without God.

I've taught Sunday School for the past 30 years. Prior to that, I had my own business. My original pencil drawings were printed on stationery products. My passion was church work though. I figured I touched approx. 300+ children with the Word of God, it's the most important thing they could ever hear.

I've faced allot of challenges and obstacles along the way. I've had some "close calls." Next month I'm facing a colostomy and hysterectomy. Getting back to teaching will be my biggest motivating factor to getting well. Please pray for me.

I was 3 weeks old at that time when I was diagnosed with neuroblastoma. I was operated right away after having a 2nd opinion. They had to remove 3 nerves from my spine.

I was 15 years old when I had my diving accident into swimming pool. That was in 1982 I'm now 40 I celebrated my 25th anniversary June 5 of this year while in rehab. C. 3/4 and complete.
Glad to still be here most days. LOL!

C6 incomplete, fell off ladder landed face first rest of body went over my head.that was Jan24, 2006. still don't understand the Dr. (says I entered E.R. as C5/C6 incomplete but got some movement and little bit of sensativaty back so they moved me to C6 can any body explain this to me? all I get from Dr. is Ummm.. is this some type of training they recieve in med school?)
