I have been blessed with early retirement since Jan. 24, 2006 (silent heart attack, fell off ladder-C6 incomlete)

31 years, car wreak on an icy road the sliding part was ok but that big ol rock sure wasn't.

I've been C4/5 for over 50 years. I was injured serving in the Royal Air Force. It's my birthday today and I'm heading towards 70 and still going strong, but getting old with SCI isn't for wimps. Good luck everyone. :tease:

Was injured in MVA 1978; Arthritis set in and ruptured a disc C6-7 in 1992.
It's been 17 years. Keep on Keepin' On. :tease:

11 years almost. 15th December 1998. Indoor Hockey accident on the third last day of school! C7 incomplete.
And T12-L4 complete on 21st March 2008. Unknown cause.
Osteoarthritis C6, C7, L2, L3, L4 on 25th May 2008

Happy belated birthday, it was my birthday also on the 16th, turned 27.

I was injured Sept. 2002, so coming on 7 years for me. I had a trampoline injury while chasing a dream to go pro in snow skiing

Hit by a falling tree while fighting a bushfire. Miraculously, no burns, except for a small one on my right hand..

just recently celebrated my 2nd quad day

i was walking home from the pub (pissed as a parrot) when i got the urge to have a pee off a 10 meter cliff... the ambulance rocked up and my bits were hanging out and i had peed all over my self. after falling 10 metres the only thing i broke was my neck gotta love the stupid things we do! :cheers:

T2/3 since 16th june 2008 at 12 years old.car crash head on with a druken driver.went flying through the windscreen and well ended up like this!

I fell head first into the boards playing hockey 26 years ago at the age of 17 with 20 seconds left in the game. Now I'm a C5/6 quad.

Hi,

My "accident" was a dissecting aortic aneurysm. This led to spinal infarction at T12, which is a complete injury. No rugby, jumping over a bus etc, just walking into the house after locking the garage.

I was working as a guard{conductor if you are American} for Qld Rail went to work on a late shift feeling fine when I finished my shift I had no feeling in my legs or feet went to the emergency dept at hospital and was told I had restless leg syndrome,2 days later different hospital t5 t6 incomplete,walking all be it wobbly I am 4 mths post surgery I never had an accident so I realy cant pin point when or why it happened.

My special day happened on the 15th march 2009.
I took my dirtbike for a quick spin which turned into a 5wk coma.
My better half and a mate found me after the accident and had to resuscitate before the ambulance arrived.
Now a T4 complete. Busted T3-T5,fractued C2 and C7,punctured both lungs,broke my ribs,face,both collarbones,sternum and a 9cm tear in my aortic valve.
Luckily no surgery on my spine as everytime they turned me over I went into cardiac arrest.

I know we all have our own stories,just wanted to share a bit of mine.

I've had my injury for nearly 12 years (more like 11 and a half to be precise), and I was 20 years old at the time of my injury.
