Does anyone know of any actual [not internet] meeting places in Greater Manchester, England?

Kate Hughes, Occupational Therapist.

Why am I a Lurker? - when perfectly respectable professional person!

Lurker means you have not contributed enough to the forum (in terms of how many times you've posted) to be given a higher status.

Depends what you mean?

Are you asking where you might find a bunch of wheelers?

Do people meet up anywhere purely because they are wheelchair users??

May I suggest looking to the local spinal injuries unit for advice? Or possibly aspire? Failing that as tinbasher suggested wheelchair sport clubs? Or local disability support groups?
Everything will be alright in the end, if it's not alright then it's not the end!

Sorry,I'm a bit confused.

Your op mentions a 'day centre'. Why would a para need a day centre?

Or is he very elderly perhaps.

Try contacting Breakthrough UK in Manchester. They are a disabled peoples user led organisation. (dpulo) They do have peer support groups and discussion groups.

It would help if you could explain the purpose as different wc users meet for different reasons.

Personally I tend to meet other wheelers in places that are accessible, sell food and beer. Failing that good coffee.

I work in the north west with dpulos, pm me if I can help.

I took the op as meaning a place where those in chairs meet, hang out maybe. Just like we come here to be with those like ourselves. I could be wrong though....lol
