Am I the only weird wife who doesn't even want to be home when he home health aide is there helping my husband? I hate it. Feels so uncomfortable and awkward so I always get out of dodge!

I am really lucky in this department. My husband has had the same care attendant for close to 20 years, and she is really part of the family at this point. (They were kind of a package deal; we both jokingly refer to her as the "other woman".) She comes three mornings a week (I help him the other four days) and while I give them their privacy to get done what needs to be done, I am not the uncomfortable around her and usually we sit a chat for a while before she leaves. I feel very fortunate for my husband and myself and I thank my lucky stars!

Don't worry it is an unnatural situation and your bound to want to escape for a while. I go for a swim or coffee, shop, walk drink with some mates anything just to get away sometimes!

That doesn't sound weird at all... I myself, don't seem to trust anyone with my wife's care, so any nurse that may help out has to deal with me hovering over them. I don't feel comfortable going places without my Sweetheart.
