Hello all;

I read about a situation that I was very curious about and unfortunately the gentleman died before I could speak with him.

This gentleman had been in a car accident and had won a large amount of money. Unfortunately, he had invested most (I think) if not all with Bernie Madoff. So he lost everything. Apparently, according to the interview of his daughter, he was so upset about this loss and she thinks that is partially why he died. (He was in his 70's, I think.) He stopped going to the doctors because in his mind there was no way he could afford the care.

In any event, I was curious, had he lived, how would his health care be covered. Typically, in CA, if you have already been paid for a medical situation by an insurance carrier, you cannot put the burden on another insurance carrier. I believe this person was in New York, but I am curious about this question.

Where would he have turned to for health care?

Anyone care to comment? This is the link to the article http://njjewishnews....sDadsDeath.html

Thanks!
