Hello All,

How's everyone doing? It's been over a year since I've been here and I must apologise sincerely to anyone who's been trying to have conversations with me - notifications weren't being email to me so please don't think I was deliberately ignoring you, I wasn't

Right, down to business....

I am in need of a Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle. Motability were initially incredibly helpful, and I have spent many months investigating the type of car I think will be most suitable for me. I have been advised by one company to have a driver assessment as this is my first WAV before calling anyone out for a demo. So, I investigated what this entails and learned that if I was referred for an assessment by the grants department at Motability I wouldn't have to pay for the assessment.

I rang the grant department today, answered 4 questions over the phone and was promptly told I didn't qualify for a grant because they only give grants for passenger solutions now, and I'm a driver. :head_brick_wall-1:

I've emailed Motability to query this, but just in case this is definitely no longer an option for funding my WAV, I would be grateful if someone could tell me how they financed their WAV.

Thank you!

Gaina :D

I don't know of this is the case. With all the recent changes I suppose its possible but not remotely fair!

Motability have claimed that they will exercise discretion. So push them and your MP of needs be.
