My husband has just developed what looks like a stage two pressure sore on his coccyx, it started out looking just like really dry rough skin and so we just kept putting Bepanthen on it and staying off it. He has a good mattress and chair cushion so we think it might be from sitting too long on the sofa and in the car, or from friction when he moves himself along the sofa..

...anyway, now the skin has broken so we've been using mepilex border dressing over it. I read somewhere on here that honey was supposed to be good but when I went into the pharmacy over here they didn't have any 'special stuff' but recommended Propolis extract which is basically a resinous mixture collected by honey bees, they said it's good for keeping the wound clean and promoting healing or something along those lines..thats all I could get from their broken English and my impossible Finnish.

Has anyone heard of this stuff or used it and had any success?
