I have had involvement with the Back Up Trust and they also provided some mentoring for my wife to help her understand what was happening with me and the implications of my discharge from Hospital and life afterwards.
She appreciated the help so much that she volunteered to become a mentor and was trained by Back Up and now mentors family members herself.
Below is a link to a recent story from Back Up's website about family mentoring and my wife and I are mentioned (famous by proxy)
Take a look at the story and also other parts of their site.

There is help for the injured and also their spouses, partners and family. It can be very helpful as I can attest from personal experience.
