Pain On Removing Catheter

The pain is mild and lasts for a few hours, but it concerns me because I normally have almost no sensation there. So I wonder if something was damaged.
I find catheterization painless but when I go to remove the catheter, I have to tug much harder than when inserting, and I get a kind of weird feeling.
Any ideas what this is due to? Also is there a lube that lasts for long time so that it is as easy to withdraw as to insert?

The last few days I have been experiencing pain in about the first inch or so of the uretha/tip area after removing catheter. I have been using red rubber 14FR straight with plenty of lubricant.

Hi really sorry to hear that and can empathise with you a lot i use conveen easicath the coating on them is really slippery when wet i did try putting gel on one yeras ago and it was not very good, how long do you need to leave the catheter in? it sounds like it dries out a bit before extraction making it difficult and painful this happened to me a couple of times as i didnt soak the cath long enough it was horrible maybe changing cath brand would help or try to downsize to 12mm

But I'm not the expert, a Urologist might be the a good place to go for answers if it persists.
