Sarah has morning sickness realy bad in the early morning. she is in bed most of the time and tries to make it to the bathroom but most of the time she does it in the waste basket next to bed or a few times in bed. The main reason I am asking is this morning she got in her chair and was tring to make it to the bathroom but it ended up in her lap she was very upset and if i had a dollor every time she said sorry i could retire I told her it was ok and helped cleaned it up. Does anyone know how to stop it or atleast control it.

If this has been an ongoing thing, has she gone to the doctor? When I had spells of nausea, my doctor wanted to give me finagren (sp). I already take more medications that I want, so depending how you view smoking a little bit of pot or not, thats what helped me during these times. I used to smoke pot in my younger days, but quit many years ago. Back then I only smoked just to get high, but now I keep a little around because it helps with my nausea, and spasms when they get acting up, and believe it or not, back pain. I very rarely smoke it, and when I do it only takes a small hit ot two to work for me.
Holy crip I'm a crapple!!!

Sorry to hear about the morning sickness. I've never had it so I really can't give any tried and true advice. How long has this been going on? Any chance she may be pregnant? If that's not it, I'd suggest talking with her doctor. Good luck.

saltines crackers, ginger ale or cola were my wife's standby's they helped but were not 100% effective. She did use it for all 4 kids though so she must have thought they helped

One of the woman's many side effects of pregnancy is vomiting!! try a little exercise and fresh air, that always helped me. Congratulations!! And if she has any wustions on how to wrangle little ones from a wheelchair I am extremely knowledgeable in that area. I raise 2 children, 20 mths and 5 years all by myself.

Hi,

As well as having had five kids I used to be a prenatal teacher, so here goes with a few suggestions:

Eating a dry biscuit before getting out of bed
Any fruit tea that is citrus based (lemon is good) or just hot water with a piece of lemon in it
Ginger in any form - ginger biscuit, a small piece of root ginger in fruit tea or hot water, root ginger added to soup, sauce etc
Aromatherapy oil - lemon, orange, lime used in an oil burner, added to a base oil (vitamin E or wheatgerm) and used for massage, a couple of drops on her pillow or added to her favourite shampoo or shower gel.
Deep breathing exercises before getting out of bed in through the nose and out through the mouth, nice and slowly
Avoid fatty and spicy food along with caffeine

I do hope that some or all of these work in combination to help her get over this very unpleasant but very normal part of pregnancy

I am an OB nurse if you are not wanting her to try prescription medications she can take Vitamin b6 25mg three times per day...she can also try "sea bands" sill i know...the things you buy for motion sickness. If conservative measures like these dont work then Phenergan and Zofran are prescriptions meds that work well...altho the phenergan causes drowsiness and zofran constipations...which could obviously cause problems.

Hey- congrats to you both.

My sickness lasted about 16 weeks. But what helped me was like above people have said dried food, crackers bread, important to eat small portions regularly instead of trying full meals.and gingerbeer helped me too. and lots of water What i think is instead of rushing to the toilet maybe she should just stick with using the bucket till her sickness passes? ( I dint have a sci when i was pregnant but still just had a bucket near my bed as my sickness had no warning!

Good luck - :)

My friend swears sucking on ice chips works....I've had a few other people tell me that also good luck

OH YES! this worked for me too lol forgot about that! :) I loved crunching on ice all day everyday
