Before you will get any help with accessability,, it will be necessary to get your lawmakers involved. The only way they will become interested is if you have a way to help them get elected. Forming a group helps, in that they will see you as more votes,, and therfore someone to be courted.

Every country that elects its leaders, works like this.

As for day to day problems,, ask what you like. Someone here has probably dealt with the same thing.

The challenges facing India's disabled community are perhaps best summarised in the current 2012 Paralympics where China, with a population of approximately 1.1 billion are able to send 300 athletes, whilst India also with a population of 1.1 billion are only able to send 10 athletes (whilst claiming to be the world's largest free and democratic society).

Hi

Very much true regarding disabled people in India. I never left my house in 3 years after my injury, except for doctor check up for which I use ambulance to travel to bangalore. My native is Hassan 180KMs away from bangalore, here disabled accessibility in public places is ruled out. Roads r with dense traffic and risky to wheelchairers. People look at me strangely here as they r not aware of my kind quadriparetic disability and the reason is neck injured survivors r very rare here. I've been looked after by aged parents, i'm the only son and hence long term outlook on my future is uncertain. I'm hoping on some miracles to happen that can put me back on feet.

My brother.I'm not an Indian, but I have the same dream as you to help my country. On what I've learnt here is you must start making projects on your own, but try and look for people who have the Knowlege in accomplishing that project .Heres an example:

I'm in college. With my engineering and a welding instructors, they are helping me with varies project that I'll share with my country men on how to make them.Heres something's I'm working on.
Homemade ceiling lifts.
Modified shower commode.
Standing frame.
Modified hospital bed.
Height adjustable table.

My best advice is to ASK universities, especially the engineering department if they can help.PM me I can email you on how to build this things.
