Yes, it's my prison photo. It was actually Alcatraz in '38.
I went down on a busted white collar scam. However,
I was the only man to ever successfully escape.

Ok, I'll post another, but you may not like that one either.

Kandice, there's nothing fun about being attacked by a T-Rex!!! Unfortunately, the poor soul on the ground behind me became that dino's last supper.

Thanks lune14, we had a brilliant time. The flight was long and we had a 7 hour delay on the way home, but the weather was great. We rented a villa so I was able to use a pool whenever I wanted and we hired a car so we were able to get around. Can't go this year but hoping to go again next year...I'm afraid I got a bit hooked on the rides and root beer

Was the photo taken in Orlando, Disney World or somewhere?
I went there and stayed in a villa the second time I went. At a place called Kissimee.
Awsome place for kids and adult too. When I went the first time, I was quite young and thought Sea World was the best.
And second time, either Cape Canaveral or Bucsh Gardens.
Epcot Centre, Universal Studios, MGM, Typhoon Lagoon & Wet n Wild. All wicked places to go.
I'd recommend big time.
C-5 Incomplete, Diving Accident in Mexico. Walking with crutches, In controlled pain !
Big respect to all SCI people !

Thanks Kandice. they're what makes life worthwhile :)
Yes Lucky, the photo was taken in Epcot I think (the parks get a little confusing). We'd wanted to take the children when they were little but couldn't afford to, but we all went in 2005 (I have a son as well) and thoroughly enjoyed it. It was more special because my son hadn't been on holiday with us for quite a few years. He couldn't come with us last year so it was just the three of us. I surprised myself at how much I enjoyed Magic Kingdom. I thought it would be for little children but I really got into it and the fireworks were superb. My daughter liked Sea World best, whereas my wife liked Busch Gardens. We're hoping to do more sightseeing next time and keep the parks for evenings. I thoroughly recommend it as a holiday for anyone with a disability too, it's so easy to get around, they've got good facilities....and you get to cheat the queues!

I'm good thanks. I think we all missed your humor and insight. Someone said you look like my Aaron, huh? I need to update my pic. That one is almost a year old now - taken a few weeks after we started dating. Anyway, good to see you back!

Gonna introduce myself to these boards with this post and picture.

Attached Image: Karl.jpg

That's me!
My name is Karl and I was in a car accident when I was about 18 months old. I'm T2 para so I have full use of my upper body and I do ok for myself I think. I found these boards because I've been feeling kind of lonely the past few weeks and just wanted some people to talk to. I figured this is a good place to say hi to everyone and tell you all how awesome it is to read your stories. The inspiration and support that goes on at this site is really something amazing. That's all I got for now, take care!

After much enjoyment seeing other people’s photos the guilt has got the better of me and I am hereby exposed. This is me this morning on a cold winter’s day at the top of the South Island in New Zealand.

I joined the forum only recently and, for better or worse, have thrown a few postings around the boards. I’ve been a para for 37 years from a motorbike crash, long enough to have learnt some things and forgotten others.

From time to time I dive into the world of disabilities, get my fill, then return to the mainstream with only minimal contact with the disability community. This is me diving back in.

I’ve been a journalist and an occupational therapist. I once worked a couple of years in a spinal unit but whatever I learnt I’ve probably forgotten. Nowadays I do a bit of freelance writing. I’m also having a revolution with music, enjoying the stuff I’ve grown up with, turned on to new stuff by my son and finally discovering classical and light jazz (somehow it never made sense before).

I never expected heading for old age would be so exciting as a para. It is as though the world is opening up for me. Fantastic.

I’m delighted with the mix of people, the friendship, goodwill, knowledge and willingness to be open on Apparelyzed.

And finally, some advice. Never take advice from anyone, especially me.
