I transfer to my toilet seat and have recently purchased a padded one to replace the ceramic hard one. But, it is still not cushy enough, I feel like I am doing harm to myself every time I get on the thing!
Also, I have a thing about my bathroom staying relatively "normal" looking and not having too much medical equipment around.

Mmmmmm shower chairs can be harsh on ones butt. How about a Roho with the middle out of it? They do make them for commodes.

Do a search for toilet seats on this site. I recall a few that suggested a round air cushion that can easily be added and removed.

These are the original ones that the SIUs recommend: http://disabledgear....ushion-standard

A number of members on here who have bought. They can feedback. I've used mine since coming out of hospital in 2003. And as they deflate, you can have one in your daysack and take it with you wherever.

Cat likes it too as she says its more comfortable!
