Well I have crushed more toys than I can count, because my son leaves them and I just zoom around and if they get in my way....CRUSH--oh well.
And all these years, I thought I had no worry of the hazards that walking people face....even my son steps on his own Legos or Hotwheels, and I cringe with sympathy, although he should have them placed in a better location, right?
Last week I rolled backwards and BAM!!!! A gorilla block caught me by surprise, stoppped my chair and I get thrown back/tipped over with my toddler in my arms. And of course my daughters safety was first and foremost and with Jedi like ease and the grace of a falling leaf she was placed gently down. It is a plus that I have push handles on my chair (to hold my purse really) they saved my head from hitting the floor. But damn the other gorilla block that engorged my back was not appreciatedalong with all the stuff in my purse. Screeeeaming from the stabbing pain I sat their assessing the severity of my fall for five minutes. I felt okay to move and decided it was a bruised spine.
I thought I would never be injured by toys on the ground. HAHA I am humbled now.
And as for the gorilla blocks...well, I think my son was so freaked out that I was actually crying from pain that he won't be having those lying around for a while.
I am all better now. To all parents in wheelchairs, Beware of backing over toys!
Fell free to share your best or should I say worst fall.

One night I was quietly watching TV in the family room while hubby was in bedroom watching another TV. I had 1 massive spasm that sent me flying through the air landing head first on hardwood floors. Off to the ER for stitches we go. As soon as I was emitted, they asked hubby to another room. We were both questioned and stories compared. They suspected domestic violence but our stories matched. We didn't figure that out until we got home and compared stories.......I laughed but he didn't.
Better watch out for those action figure toys...no telling what kind of damage they might do. Glad you wasn't seriously hurt! Boys tend to have short memories........be careful!!!

My 3 year old daughter leaves everything absolutely everywhere. As for her bedroom it's a no go area until you perform a Moses trick using your helping hand to make a path to the bedside to put her to bed.
Bugger is the kitchen, I am always rolling backward with my hands full of plates or stuff for the fridge and a random shoe or doll or something will nearly empty me over the top onto the floor.
Much yelping and swearing (under my breath) but luckily no trips to the ER to get my head sown up, back or front!

a couple of weeks ago i was going up a ramp in my house (we have one room that is one step lower than the rest of the house, so there is a simple wooden ramp for me) and i wasn't paying attention to my wheel placement. my back right wheel slipped off the ramp and back i went. i was perfectly fine, but it upset my 3 year old a lot. it took her about 10 minutes to calm down.

Well, not my most recent fall but this particular was during my recent spell in my spinal unit.
It was my last night in the unit and a few inmates and myself went to the local pub for a goodbye drink. We are all arriving back at the unit entrance where i had left my wheelchair thinking that it was a good plan to go on my crutches in a taxi and then transfer back into my chair in the entrance porch area....Good plan when sobre but not so good after several glasses of wine (in not a big drinker lol)..as i discovered.
I put my crutches down and reached for my chair..which i missed...and fell to the floor very ungracefully ....dislocating my finger joint in the process..ouch!
.....but funny!
