Hey guys I'm reaching out for some advice. I currently have a padded transfer bench shower chair and padded commode but it is definitely time to buy new ones I'm just not sure if I should go with a combo chair both for shower and bowel program or if I should buy 2 separate pieces.

I'm looking for opinions.

And also wondering if I should buy the padded ones or if I should just go with plan old plastic. I know the padding helps prevent sores but I'm not in the shower that long that I think one would form or I could be totally wrong. Just looking for some feed back on your experiences and opinions on which works for you.

Thanks in advance for your replies!

I have had both types of the shower chairs, I liked my padded one better and soon as I can I will be going back to one. I find the plastic one to be slippery at times and I'm always sliding out of it where as the padded one helped keep me situated but thats just my experience.

I have a padded shower chair and a padded raised toilet seat. I'd stick with the
padded cause I wouldn't want to chance a pressure sore.

I'm thinking about going with a padded transfer bench with the commode cut out. Just trying to make room in my bathroom. having both a shower and commode seems to be too much. But I will def be going with padded. Thanks for you replies and if anyone else has any input please share. Thanks again!

You do not say if your fiancee is complete, or incomplete. World of difference for skin care. I bought a padded chair doe shower that I should have loved, but it was slippery. My plastic one has a bumpy surface that is not slippery at all. not comfortable either, but I prefer it.

You can test by having your fiance sit on a hard chair for 20 minutes a few times. If he has some sensation, ask him what he thinks. And yes, if your bathroom is small you will not want more than one, and I suppose that narrows the comfort range for a hard chair more. It will be tedious moving the chair every time, but that is life, no? Chores everywhere.
