Have been debating about buying a portable ramp to keep in the car for accessing friends houses etc...
Any of you got one? What would you recommend? Find it helpful?

Cheers

I've seen this reply somewhere before and have responded. I found my portable ramp by typing exactly that into the Search Engine of Google. I have one that I take everyhwere with me when I use my chair. It fits into its own bag and hangs on the back of my chair. Here is one link that I can think of.

Thanks for helping out Simon. I honestly cannot remember where I got mine from. I know it is not a bulky thing and is a great aid.

I use 3 piece Telescopic Ramp made of aluminum. They are light weight and does not take much space in the car. I do not use it very often but it works fine.

I have a ramp and its fine, but you might need a "Bridge Threshold" if the entrance has a drop on the other side. You can easily tip out of your chair if their door threshold has a large drop on the other side.

Hi Folks,

A former rehab buddy of mine, Don Krebs, has a great website, he is located here in california, but does ship international. There are lots of great recreational aids and other equipment and supplies...even ramps, listed on his site. BTW, when we remodeled last year, the threshold height for our entry doors changed...I bought two sets of aluminium threshold ramps from Don, they work great. See the links below, hope this helps.
