OK, great catch line huh? Actually I have been on this site nearly a year now and rarely have I had any good news to share, so I thought I would share this with you guys. It has really hot here on the east coast of the US and my son has been a prisoner to the AC in the house well he had enough and he told his friends to bring him out to the pool and said "pick my ass up and throw me in!" Parent alert! Parent alert! OMG do we have a dive team to get him off the bottom? Do I need to call the EMT's to be standby?

Breathe deep, take control. "Ok if we are gonna throw his ass in the pool. I'm gonna make sure it done correctly so I will grab his shoulders you grab his legs. 1,2,3 toss!" and in he went, he surfaced we stabilized him, he floated he swam we pulled him into the cove where he could be seated and handed him a PBR (Pabst Blue Ribbon). The smile, the joy, the non stop talking from him was the best day we have had in such a long time. And in those few hours tonight, I had my son back.

Thank you all for keeping me positive and telling me he was still in there and I would see it one day. Today I saw my son for the first time in almost a year and boy did I miss him.

PS when you throw someone in a pool make sure they are not wearing a brief I have that crap all over my house!

That's a great story. Well done to all involve; you, your son and his friends.

That must have been great for him - and you.

That's awesome! And I'm jealous… I did water therapy a couple years ago and it was so freeing to be able to stand up right and to float around. I hope your son gets a chance to be thrown in the pool again :D

Muskie,
aww, now I'm all teared up. It is perfect because he decided the timing for himself. I expect this is the start of a trend because one successful decision leads to another.

Sounds like good times, Muskie! I'm glad your son decided he wanted to go for a swim and that you were able to enjoy it. Next time, though, hand him a good beer like a Samuel Adams Summer Ale, great for those hot summer days. I'm going to enjoy one or two (six packs) on my pontoon boat today, with my wife and friends, in the 96 degree heat.

Just joking about the PBR, mostly, I wouldn't turn down any cold beer on a hot summer day.

Now I want to be thrown in a pool. It is so good to hear you guys had a blast, and hopefully more in the future.
3 doctors diagnosed me with hysterical paralysis (weee!), 1 diagnosed an incomplete T7, another T2 and the last (and most accurate) T5. Trampolines are BAD. Sleep is unpredictable. And never kiss strangers. Life has moved on.

So happy for both of you! I know how my mood and energy affects my parents so I'm sure you must have felt so happy to see him having fun! :)
