We're now going into production with the world's first "bicycle" powered by an electric motor for unassisted wheelchair users. We call it the Nonacycle. "Nonacycle" means a nine-wheeled cycle. The Nonacycle is a bicycle-like five-wheeled electric vehicle with an integral ramp. Your four wheels + the Nonacycle's five wheels = nine wheels. Without assistance, the wheelchair user can deploy and retract the Nonacycle's integral ramp and embark onto and disembark from the riding platform. The Nonacycle has an electric motor which propels it's rider to a top speed of about 20 mph (35 kph). It has a range of about 20 mi (35 km) between battery charges.

Below is a link to a YouTube video which gives an overview of the Nonacycle's features:

A warm welcome to Apparelyzed Nanocycle. You will find a wealth of knowledge on the needs of the people in the S.C.I. community here.

Let me apologize for the delay in response to your topic and thank you for sharing your Youtube of The Nanocycle.

Is it fair to assume you are looking for constructive criticism? I know this is the prototype but I have a few questions and pointers for you to consider before production starts:

Is it steady and safe at it's top speed of 35 kmph?

How much will a standard Nanacycle cost?

Is it for road/off road or sidewalk/pavement use?

Storage of the device could be a problem for a lot of end users.

It looks to have quite a large turning circle.

It is rather huge, I understand that it could be made smaller however nothing is a better fit than the wheelchair a person is in.

Unless the Pope gets a spinal injury I really don't see the point of its existence. There are already several 'mount to the wheelchair' powertrikes and many handcycles available on the market that negate the need for your platform.

I wish you good luck on your venture but until I get cast in the remake of Ben Hur I'm out.
How does it feel to feel?
