Has anyone had Ligament Lengthening done to a leg? My left side is more paralyzed than the right. My left leg is bent at the knee, 45 degrees. I have tried everything to straighten it, but it always comes back to surgery.

So I am at a crossroad, if I go through with the surgery I eliminate my chances to ever using that leg in the future if a cure is found for SCI. Also, the odds that the surgery won't take are 50/50 because they say the messages are pretty dead on that side; blood clots etc... So I could potentially loose that leg due to the surgery.

If anyone is willing to share their experiences with Ligament Lengthening, I would sure like to hear about it. I am a T-10 /L-3. :)
