I agree that figs and prunes work wonders. But those little pips in figs are horrible when you're doing a manual evacuation

I am about to try some different stuff - colon care+ by Holland & Barrett which is psyllium husk powder (like fibagel) and also some slippery elm capsules. I think that taking these will do the same job as fibagel but without the nasties. I hope they work because the pain of constipation and wind is awful.
I was also eating bran and dried fruit but they just gave me a lot of wind.

My husband has never had a problem with his bowels but uses 25ml Lactulose each night as a softener..never has accidents unless he's ill ...
I think it's just the way your made cos we eat the same things and I think we have a good diet, lots of fruit,veg and fibre but if I don't eat double the amount of fruit to him I have a bit of a problem..I find chocolate helps, must be Green & Blacks or Hotel Chocolat...funny that!!!
