I am Nigel Moody and way back in May 1994 I suffered a major brain haemorrage. Followed by one in 1996 and my last one in 1997. After the last one I had my seconded operation, since this my health has been on top form. As you may appreciate I have lost a lot on my confidence in terms of travel. This year I would just love to travel abroard. Would love some advice on this matter. Even any companys or organisations that may be able to help me get away yours sincerely Nigel Moody

Hello,
I've been traveling lately to and from a nearby state by way of flying. I first posted a request on the forum for some advice about flying, and it as well as the responses are located in the Traveling section. I dont have any experience traveling out of the country, but I have found that it is a fairly easy thing for me to go on short flights. If that is what you are wanting to do. I am glad for you that you want to get out and travel. Dont let anything discourage you. Once you try it, I promise you wont want to stop. I've flown 4 times since I the end of June. Its been a lot of fun.

Good Luck!

Nigel
Firstly, have you been cleared to fly by your doctors? When you fly you dehydrate it can't be helped really, which may affect you haemorages - check with them on this.
Its very easy to arrange your own travel, easyjet.com, flymonarch.com etc offer cheap flights from the uk to mainland Europe.
First you should choose your destination though, obviously the nearer the uk the shorter the flight. TFor example, the Algarve where we are is between 2hr 45min and 3hr 15min dependinng on which uk airport you fly from.
Your desitanation depends on how disabled you are really, do you need an wheelchair accessible placeto stay or not? Do you need other equipment like hoists, shower chairs etc?
If you reply we can go further.....
