It must surely be something to do with slow circulation as it took ages to start flaring up and now taking ages to heal - it must be taking time to get the wasp's venon out of the area. I've had a look online for reactions to wasp's stings or what wasp's venon does to flesh/skin, but there's nothing there except things like allergies and basic treatment. I wonder what damage wasp's venon does...
I was hoping someone else had had the same problem and found a way to sort it, without hacking off the toe with an axe! lol

Well there are lots of things you can take to boost circulation. Here are a couple:
My dad always said that when going out in the cold, that I should put cayenne pepper in my socks, which I do. Your feet and socks will get a little red, but it does work. This will help in poor blood circulation…… I checked the web for cayenne pepper and poor blood circulation, and found this website which it very interesting, as I just learned a little about Cayenne pepper myself and its healing properties. http://www.newconnex...1/capsicum.html
Ginkgo Biloba is another good herb for circulation. Just remember it takes months for this to really start to take effect. In fact never stop taking it. I've been taking this for years. I take it in a ticture form. It cost a bit more but it is worth it. Here is a website on this. http://www.localharv...tem.jsp?id=2768. There are tons on herbs out there that can help for improving circulation. If its possible get your legs messaged and stretch when ever you can. If the problem is still there, get to a doctor.

It was definately a wasp - lovely yellow and black stripes and pulsating sack of venon at the end of the sting, which I pulled out. I thought my leg would've spasmed, but it didn't...
I had a cut on my foot years ago that took ages to heal, so know what it's like to have wounds on feet, but it never occurred to me about wasp/bee stings and poor circulation.
I need to find out if wasp venon actually does any long term damage to flesh. I'll do some searching online.

I too prefer to keep antibiotics for a life or death situation.
Have you tried CIDER VINEGAR? I take about 3 tablespoons every day for health benfits.
Quoting from "vinegar 1001 uses by Margaret Briggs (ISBN 1-86147-167-X)
Cider vinegar and blood- Cider vinegar helps with cleansing, the reintroduction of minerals as well as the clotting of blood. Oxidation of the blood is very important and cider vinegar is an effective treatment for this.
Cider vinegar is said to be very effective in detoxifying various organs in the body together with the blood stream. It is a purifier, as it has a means of breaking down fatty, mucous and phlegm deposits within the body, promoting the health of the vital organs of the body e.g. kidneys, bladder, liver etc., by preventing an excessively alkaline urine.
Cider vinegar also promotes digestion, and it neutralises toxic substances. CV has exraordinary potassium content which is essential for normal growth of the body and for replacing worn out tissues which depend upon the presence of this mineral.
Further health benefits are...
ARTHRITIS It dissolves the crystal deposits of uric acid that form between the joints ( also for muscular rheumatism)
BONES The manganese, magnesium, silicon and calcium found in apple cider vinegar have been linked in sustaining bone mass, which is important in the fight against osteoporosis.
Sorry if that ended up sounding like a lecture
So try it and see if the redness and swelling go down in your toes.

If it gets any worse, I'm going to make my own version of a "Jackass" video of how to amputate a toe at home! lol

that is relly interesting about the cider. My doctor has put me on 1 Alprim (antibiotic) once a day everyday and i've been on that since my accident in '99. Growing up on remote aboriginal communities and islands, i was constantly on antibiotics as the nurses there put you on them for EVERYTHING
i might go off them and try cider instead
I hope it doesn't come to an amputation Dave, but i do love those jackass movies................

I emailed a doctor that has an interesting web site about wasp and bee stings and this is his reply...
"Wasp sting allergy is immediate. Very often the irritation from the venom
causes redness and flaking skin which will settle. There are no longterm
consequences and you should make a full recovery."
As the circulation in my feet is reduced, obviosuly it took time for the redness and flaking skin to appear, and will take even more time to disappear. I'm just glad the venon isn't doing any long term damage. it's just a matter of "hurry up and wait"!

The vinegar you bought is fine but it has less health benefits. It will still remove the toxins and flush your body, so dont think that you wasted your money!

I'm just pleased I wasn't bitten by something with more and stronger venom, like a scorpion!
I'm not worried as I was told the venom won't do any long term damage and I'm keeping it moist so it doesn't crack up, but it doesn't lok very good! Wait till you see the pic!!!

Sigh... You really built us up for the big unveiling, DaveP! Figure we need a photo of something, so I offer up a third degree burn I received from a heating pad before I knew how severely I could be harmed. Now mind you the injury happened over a year ago...

Was using the heating pad to negate the neuropathic pain at the time. Suffice to say, I never used a heating pad again.
I can't be only one with marred skin. Anyone else care to share?

The 2nd one was just this summer in the swimming pool here in my apartments. There was a underwater light on the deep end, but being under water I never thought it would get as hot as it obviously does. I swam up to the edge of the pool to talk with my wife who was in a chair there reading. My leg was up against the light for about 20 seconds. About a hour later when I got back to the apartment I have a bubble about the size of a baseball popping up on my leg. That was about two months ago and it has mostly healed but still looks pretty damn bad.
I guess the good thing was that the 2nd one was exactly where the 1st one was so I don't have two big burn scars on the top of my leg.
