Hey All,
Just come back from a great week on sun, sea and sangria :H2kOther (26):
It's a fantastic city to visit and very wheely friendly, had no problems getting around, the metro was fine, the buses were fine and the taxi's well, there was a few disabled ones around.
Booked the hotel (view below) and hired the equipment through www.accessiblebarcelona.com, he's a nice bloke and even showed us about the 1st evening, so anyone looking to go try him first, if he can't help he has other contacts.

Now the main thing, the plane journey, as this was my first holiday abroad, was abit worried about leaving my chair to the baggage handlers and even more worried as it was easy jet lol.
Was very surprised, the staff at Bristol are very clued up on everything and felt at ease straight away, even in Barcelona they were clued up on it all. Throughtout the flight they checked up on me to make sure i was comfortable and everythig.

So a big up to easy jet, they do care and i'd travel with them again........

I stayed at the Atrium Palace ( http://www.hotel-atriumpalace.com/ ) which was only 10 minutes walk from La Rambla.

You want to try the Barcelona Bus TurĂstic ( http://www.barcelonaturisme.com/ ), it's wheelchair accessible and good value for money.

If you go to La Rambla, keep walking to the bottom, and you can walk around the harbour and do some shopping.

The Gothic area is good, but there can be some steep areas, it's still worth a visit though.

It's really a case of exploring to see what you can find, but it's a great place, and I'm sure you'll have a great time.

Yeah - I've also been to Barca twice - great destination for w/c -plenty of accessible toilets round too. The airport bus is also accessible and only costs a few Euros to get you right into the City centre.
I use EasyJet all the time, never had any problems with them and always found them very helpful (as well as cheap).
