Daryl Mitchell was also on the 'Suite Life with Zack and Cody', which is on the Disney Channel. Daryl competed against the stars of the show in wheelchair basketball.
Does anyone know if Daryl has any more gigs. or is he just focusing on replacing Chris Reeve for the Foundation? The new spokesperson so to speak.

We started watching that movie, but it wasn't as good as I thought, so we stopped. It just seemed to get a bit "boring"/ At least in our oppinion. What did you think of it?

A lot like Lou & Andy in Little Britain it has made people laugh (in a nice light hearted way) at being in a wheelchair and the comedy that does arise from it. I find it makes AB's question themselves about misguided assumptions of us wheelies.
There are as mentioned some great dibbly films and some really bad portrayals too.
Personally I can't see why any female (AB or dibbly) isn't swept off their feet by the pure sexiness and strength of character of John Voight in Coming Home.

Yes, I recall it as I fancy the bum off the actor who plays him (well he has gorgeous eyes..funny as he was called "eyes only" or something like that, lol). Incidently, the 'shooting' occured in the second or so episode.. and he spent the whole ( two?) series/seasons as a wheelie..aside from the times that he was equipped with the 'suit' brace thingy which he was able to walk with ( I think it was invisable, bbut may be wrong). Also, there was a guy who "Logan" got a lot of technical info and expertise biologically from and he was disabled too. He seemd to be a very high quad due to CP or other similar if I recall correctly. It is going back a few years. It was good the first season ( Jessica alba was great etc), but the second series they pulled the plug on thye budget and eventually production, so it did suck..
Take care,

I remember this movie so vividly as it was on the TV the day ( or thereabouts) that Christopher Reeve broke his neck. I recall thinking how uncanny that was...

Aardman Animations, the company behind Wallace & Gromit and Creature Comforts, has developed a range of new characters for a disability awareness campaign. The campaign, launched by the Leonard Cheshire Disability charity, is called "Creature Discomforts" and features six animal characters, each of which is voiced by a disabled person.
Characters include Flash the sausage dog, Spud the slug, Brian the bull terrier and Peg the hedgehog - all wheelchair-bound with different disabilities - Slim the stick insect with a walking stick and Tim the tortoise on crutches.

"Saved!" was the sweetest movie. I love the line "It doesn't bother you he can't walk?" "He can't walk?!"

Eddie, an American contestant on an early season of Big Brother had one of his legs amputated.
On Little House on the Prairie, Albert had a penpal that was in a wheelchair. And I think Nellie or Mrs. Oleson was in one for an episode.
There was a character on Seinfeld that was in a wheelchair. And George used a Rascal in an episode, but I don't think we can really count that!
