Hi Folks,

Myself and my family are considering a trip to Centre Parcs as we always enjoyed our stays there before I was injured. I was wondering whether anyone has had any experience of staying at any of their 'parcs' in a wheelchair?

Cheers.

I've been to Oasis in the lake district (part of centre parcs) and to sherwood since my SCI with the family and found both to be great. I've messed arond on both tennis and badminton courts. The access for chairs is generally excellent - the pools are apparently accessible although I've not been in.

The access to the disabled chalet would be my only critisism - rather than put in new doors they've simply put a sloping bit of wood each side of the 3" threshold and the slope on the wood is about 45deg so it's a bit of a bump up and over every time rather than a roll. The bed's aren't the best from a pressure relief point of view although I had no problems.

Avoid Longleaty though - it's very hilly and would be very hard work in a chair.

I'd definately recommed it on balance as we've had some great stays there with the family.

Thanks Russ. I'm always a bit nervous about these things, but when I know that someone has already been through the experience and survived, it makes me feel a little more relaxed.
:dunno:
