My sister has an SP and I been changing it for the past year. She refuses to even think about changing it on her own. Anway, I had been changing it about every two weeks or so because it would get blocked. We had been going through process of elimination with the meds and vitamins and we narrowed it down to the Z-BEC she was taking. So this past time she made it a whole month and we decided to go ahead and change it even though it wasn't blocked. Well, when I stuck the new foley in the hole and pushed it in some air was released and at first there wasn't any fluid but then it started to come slowly. After cleaning everything up I also noticed that it was bleeding a little so I swabbed it. Well, the next day it had dried up but there is a small piece of red tissue that is obviously still attached but has come out from the hole and I was wondering if this is kind of normal after changing it after a month. She won't call the urologist cause she knows he won't answer the questions because she hasn't been there in over 6 months and they like to get more money out of you so they expect you to come in just to get and answer of, "Yes, it's normal."
I'm telling myself that it is probably ok because it has been 18 days and it is still the same. It seems like it just takes a little more time for something like that to heal. So, anyone else had this problem?
