Anyone been on the receiving end of a random, and unexpected, act of kindness lately? Anyone make a habit of giving random acts of kindness, without expecting anything in return? Anyone hand out an act of kindness without letting the recipient know who the giver was? Anyone got any suggestions for acts of kindness this time of year.....with Thanksgiving and Christmas fast approaching?

Last week a dear friend of mine was really in the dumps. Someone let her down over some baby chicks. So I sent her a huge bouquet of flowers with a note that said "sod the chickens" she couldn't stop laughing and she guessed they were from me.

If I won the lottery Id have such good fun giving it away and Id make sure the recipient never knew where the gift or money came from. That would give me such a high!

One of the greatest free giveaways is a smile. It costs nothing but creates so much. Some years ago when my husband was away and I was at a low ebb, a stranger gave me a smile that completely lifted my spirit. She never knew how much her smile meant but I'll never forget how much better I felt because of it. :P

I was in Hexam a few weeks ago and just sitting around waiting for my husband. A lady came up to me and I thought she was going to ask for directions, instead she said ' I just wanted to say what a fantastic wheelchair you have, Ive never seen one like it!'. I was really amazed, but it made me feel nice and yes its a bit colourful.

I personally make a point of personally thanking people when they do something for me especially at work. I thank people even when they are doing their job and doing nothing special. A word of thanks I find is often forgotten but worth rubies!

last saturday i went to a theme park with some of my friends, and while we were lining up for a ride, a girl walked past, tapped me on the shoulder and told me she really liked my hair. that made me smile for the rest of the day! :)

i always love it when people don't eat meat in front of me just because i'm a vegetarian, i always find that so sweet!

Going out to Vegas one day, I saw this little kid, who seem to be lost and started crying. I went over and told him I can do some tricks for him. I pop a few wheelies, and he loved it, then asked if he can try I said sure and I place him on lap then put his hands on the wheels and did a wheelie, he just couldn't stop saying Cool.

Then her parents got back to the place that we were and he said, "Mommy, that person is cool, can I get the chair too?"

That little voice is still in my head everytime I see little kids around. It was cute! :)

I do something I sorta consider silly, but I have been surprised at how its gone over. Certain pt's when under the weather, I send lil notes with family members, usually its just a smiley face as its always a busy time it seems, but if I have that extra moment I write a lil get well msg, and the next time I see them, they tell me it made their day.

Thats not all I do, but its the most recent and regular thing. Smile it makes them wonder what you are up to ;)
Of all the words, of tongue or pen, the saddest, are these: "what might have been".

I always say "Yes, Sir", "No, Sir", "Yes Ma'am". "No Ma'am" whether the person has been nice or mean. In the case of repeat customers, who may not be the nicest on earth, in time they often will "come around". You get a lot more with kindness than hatefulness.
