Ooops I thought you meant PI, was willing to give you a lot of information on that. What is a PA? Physical Analysis, Practical Administration, People appalled. :) Would like to help. But I guess you figured out I'm clueless. :) But if you give me one more clue I might be able to help.

I was doing my NVQ 4 managers award last year as my friend who owns a small company wanted me as care manager, however after three months of pressure with staff problems/client issues and being on call 24/7 it took its toll on me as this is very stressful indeed. I went back to my senior care position and these days let someone else take hold of the reins. Running a care agency is like a leaking bucket when no sooner you think you have a full team then they disappear and your back to square one again recruiting etc. Also to be a registered manager you would need at least five years experience in the care industry(hands on) so to speak although if you owned your own company you could employ a care manager to run the ship so i guess thats what you like the sound of. My friend has ran his own company for almost five years now and prior to that was a care manager for another home care agency. When he first started up in business he was out doing calls day and night wiping bums (as you do) and there was only the three of us working untill it got off the ground. Today he employs 46 staff members and two seniors and a care manager but he does still come in twice weekly to hire and fire . If you are interested in knowing more im sure he would point you in the right direction and i would gladly speak to him about this on your behalf.

I run a PA agency through the state of Maine to care for my husband C5 complete- This has been the answer to most of our problems- The training, hiring, firing and all the politics that come along with having people in the home are my responsibility- it really works quite well and is getting better with each new hire-
