Not any serious fishing lately, but I do take my son fishing at the local lake occasionally.

I used to go fishing quite a bit....love hooking those pike....what a fight! :P

Yes...I've always been one-handed...and I know how to fish. I'm not great about putting the worms on the hook...squeamish as in it's yukko...but I found way to do it one-handed.

The pole I've got is old and used to be my Grandpa's. I kept it as these days it's hard to find and buy the push button release reel. And with it, I can fish independently and am good at it.

Taking fish off though is rough. I've never found way to do it. So I always have to go with someone when I fish. Sometimes a blessing sometimes otherwise ;)

Happy fishing ;) May the fish be big ;)

I haven't fished in several years and really only physically got into it once, while on a date with a commercial fisherman (yeah it was really romantic!! LOL)

In any case we were out in the bay off the Oregon coast and I landed a 25lb chinook! Took me 10+ mins to pull it in and my date later told me he was holding me by one arm to keep me from falling over the side of the boat as I was so caught up in bringing it in.
Here's a pic (and please don't laugh cuz I spent 7 hours in a tiny boat with 5 men and I look AWFUL!) lol

I just found out I can drop crab rings from a bridge here (vs from a boat in the bay). I'm excited to do it as the last time I went crabbing it was pre-SCI and I was picking my feet up left and right as they went scurrying across the bottom of the boat! EEEEK
I love to eat em but don't like touching them when they're alive and snapping LOL

We have been getting lots of enquiries from anglers that want accessibility and some of the big carp that this area is famous for - Brittany, France.
So I went in search where we could get disabled anglers down to the waters edge - so to speak - I could not believe at how negative most of the lakes owners were - it's as if that there are so many non-disabled anglers out there then they didn't want the hassle of having to make a loo accessible, or get a swim sorted out!

Thankfully we found one close to us who has been really helpful and open to suggestion and I think that we really are about the only company offering accessible fishing and accessible accommodation in this area!

My husband has actually volunteered to be a support worker (wonder why - he being an avid carp fisherman!) for any potential guests and we just have taken a weeks booking in May - which is absolutely great!

I don't know how it is elsewhere, but here in IN, maybe even all of the US (?), anyone who is disabled does not have to have a fishing license, nor does their companion. Many lakes around here have marked accessible decks for w/c users to fish from.

I love fishing, was in Brazil last year to go Peacock Bass fishing in the Amazon Rain Forest. I live on a lake and have a couple boats and used to go fishing all the time. I havent since I started using a wheelchair though cause that was towards the end of the summer by the time I got home from the hospital and just wasnt comfortable enough to venture out too close to the shoreline, on the dock or even attempt to do a transfer into a boat yet. We have an ice house and that would be easy enought getting out there but I have never really been much of an ice fisherman (fisherwoman). Next year though I will definatly be fishing again!

I would love to go to the amazon rain forrest!

Since the accident I don't fish as much as I used to as you really have to drive a few hours out to go somewhere decent. You can fish in the city's river..but I would NEVER eat anything that came from there :)

I went fishing when I was in Perth. We went out to sea in a boat and were a few miles out, and decided to anchor up and throw the lines in the water. Within minutes the Aussie flies had found us! lol Those flies are amazing!

Get out into the ocean???? I thought your mad till i realised your were in Australia and not the UK, lol. I would love to hve christmas when its warm, and summer of course, lol.

I aint been fishing for ages but want to start again next year. I used to do sea fishing but getting too soft for the cold now so will stick to reservoir fishing since ive had more luck aswell, lol
I do it erratically, often with bits fallling off.
