:mfrlol:
We have just come back from a short and restful holiday in Tenerife.
What a beautiful island !!! We were staying in Los Cristianos, surely the most accessible village in Europe. No problem moving around, ramps everywhere, adapted beach, toilets, etc., not to mention the weather!!!
We were staying in a hotel called Mar y Sol, it was so confortable to have everything you could need around. We were astonished to go into the apartments and see how accessible they were. Just imagine that even if they have a gorgeous weather, they still heated the pool (32ºC). You could see all kind of people going into the water, the hoist made it possible.
Along with that we want to call the attention about the friendly staff working there. You could tell they are used to working with people suffering from complicated illnesses.
We do not want to make this too long, you may just take a look at their website: www.marysol.org

Yes, went to see Mar y Sol being built in 1988, we were on holiday at a hotel in Playa de las Americas. Problem I had with it which has been backed up by others is its a bit like a holiday centre for wheelchairs. There's no doubt its facilities are good but if you want privacy it isn't the place to go.

Yeah, I've heard that as well, you just end up talking to people about your aches and pains and comparing scars!

There are plenty of accessible hotels and villas in Teneriffe now, but Mar Y Sol is good if it's your first time on holiday, and you want the back up knowing all the equipment is there.
