Been told by professionals 'yes' and 'no' over the years......why?
Thought it was C 1-7.......T 1-12......then L 1-5, except very top 'n bottom.
Have seen peple sign in as C-8 as well.

The C8 nerve comes out between the C7 vertebra and T1 vertebra.

I do know there are different levels when talking about the 'nerve exit' levels and vertebral levels. That may explain the confusion....

I'm a C8 myself. That's what I was dianosed many years ago as. I've had people try to tell me there's no such thing. If you look at a chart of the spinal chord, it does show C8.
A link on this site shows it, http://www.apparelyz...spinalcord.html

Looking at the above chart, and to my understanding of it, there is such a thing as a C8 nerve root , but not a C8 vertebrae.
It's just a matter of terminology, and which one wants to refer to....the actual nerve itself, or the involved vertebrae. When identifying cord injury, it's the vertebrae levels that are most commonly referenced.

There is a C8 nerve root, but no C8 vertabrae.
C1 nerve root comes out above the C1 vertabrae.
C7 nerve root comes out above the C7 vertabrae
C8 nerve root comes out below the C7 vertabrae.
T1 nerve root comes out below the T1 vertabrae.
Below T1, all nerve roots exit below their vertabrae.
(as far as I'm aware!)

Simon.

Couldn't fool you guys. Thanx for the info. Saw this on Adam's link, same as what the rest of you suggest...
This is because there are:
7 cervical vertebrae but 8 cervical nerve roots leaving the cord.
Live 'n learn eh?
