Your husband may want to try a TENS Unit. I wasn't able to find the exact model I used, so I just linked a search that I made through Google. I was using the TENS Unit that I had to stimulate the quad muscles in my right leg. I think the unit helped to some degree.

My injury level is different than your husbands, so I couldn't guarantee any sort of results. Has your husband seen a Physiatrist recently? A decent rehabilitation facility should be able to determine what would work best for his abs.

thanks for the info..i shall look into this...
and no, my husband has not gone to a Physiatrist...is this covered by most insurance? i am clueless..
my husband was injured at 2 years old...he is 29 now..and does not remember being able ever..i know that when he was a kid, he had all kinds of therapy...he gets a physical every year..but he's like me..hates going to the doc and does the bare minimum..
he is very active and just very self-conscious of his abs and legs...he is healthy like a horse..loves working out and is extremely built in his upper body..but has always told me that he wishes he could do something about his lower body...i think he's lovely...very much...but i know it bugs him that he wants to work out lower body and can't..

The Physiatrist I saw was covered by insurance. You may have to be referred by your Family Physician depending on the type of insurance you have.

Definitely worth the effort!
