I'm looking to buy a tilite tr, but i'm not prepared to pay UK prices! Has any1 got advice and reccomendations on places in the US where i can purchase one, also has any1 been able to use their wheelchair voucher to buy a chair abroad. Any help would be very appreciated.

Ive been looking at exactly the same thing. There is a guy on Ebay.com who regularly sells a selection of Tilites so its worth lookiing. I dont think he has any on at the moment mind. He quoted me about £200 for shiping but has Buy it now prices of around £400. So you are looking at around £600. I dont think you can do better than that. Obviously you need to be certain of measurements etc. I think they may be ex-demo models, but for such a saving it certainly doesnt bother me.
Im pretty sure you cannot use the voucher abroad, but Ive pretty much given up on the whole system to be honest.

Hope this helps

hi guys,

i bought my first chair from the states as i got sick of waiting for the wheelchair service to get there act together. Ive found a couple of companies that are pretty good. It all depends on whether you need a new chair or not. they are:-

- www.sportaid.com i have bought lots of stuff from them and in my opinion are they best
- www.spinlife.com very professional; big company
- the guy lucy spoke to on ebay nice guy who seems to know there stuff
- www.m5mobility.com but his site seems to be down at the minute he sells new and demos

hope that helps

Just to add my 2 cents, sportaid is really one of the best, I've used them myself, and southwest medical, you can find them on the net, they are good, too, for many things, but I'm not even sure if they have the tilites. Sportaid would be my best recommendation.

Whats annoying is i have a wheelchair voucher!!!!! what i think i'll do is buy a basic TILITE TR fom the states, then use the full voucher to pimp my chair!! from UK i.e wheels, casters etc
