I came across this website http://www.stemcellschina.com/ People have good results after their stem cell treatment but the cost is pretty high I guess. so check it out and tell me what yall think.

I would like to see the research with some added information. Like a database. So that we can see what the original damage was to the spinal cord. Some have had swelling that resulted to the SCI and some have had major trauma. I had 12mm of seperation at T-5 on the cord itself. So everyone is different but I would reason to bet that those with incomplete injuries and those with swelling would benefit the most from the treatments. I also am interested to see people have multiple operations. To see if they get more and more ability after each application. Like a building block situation.

If there was a viable cure for SCI WE WOULD KNOW ABOUT IT!

It wouldn't be some semi secret institute in China, Russia, Holland, France (pick your country).

At the very best these are experimental treatments and at the worst and sadly most likely they are just plain old snake oil aimed at parting desperate people from their money.

Have someone pray for you, dangle a crystal, put two bricks under the foot of your bed or lay hands on you. Just dont be a fool and hand over cash!

When a viable cure is found believe me it WILL be in the evening news.

Well, I believe it is "Red Tape" (and the FDA) in the USA that is standing between successful Stem Cell surgeries being done here to help people with Spinal Cord Injuries regain their mobility. Successful procedures are being done in other countries. Perhaps not with 100% success rate, as everyone's situation is different. Google the "International Stem Cell Regeneration Center" in Baja, and see what they're doing. Blue Shark stem cells are being used with good results. Adult Stem Cells and even Umbilical Stem Cells hold the answers to many ailments and situations which, I believe, are either treatable or curable. Just my two cents worth here, but I think you all should take a little time to investigate. And let's hope and pray that the USA will start allowing some of these procedures to be done in the States so that Medicare might pick up part of the tab, eh? I always believe in having HOPE. Oh, and Happy New Year, everyone! ;-)

Amen! Enough of these charlatans stealing from the hopeful.

But let's start putting SERIOUS resources here in the USA towards addressing the many issues confronting SCI and other neurological disorders!!

It is very unfortunate that political reasons step in the middle of advancement of science at times. I had my accident July 29 2005 and my number 6 rib broke at the back and hit my T5 resulting in two very very small chips this made my cord swell and put me in a chair with a "T5 complete".
I was the chief pilot for a company in Calgary Alberta flying high level photography. I am now the Director of Flight Operations. Needless to say I felt a huge loss over this accident but that is not stopping me from doing what I can to walk again.
I am determined to do just that.
I have spend long long hours researching the beginnings of stem cell research and where it is today. I believe that if not for George Bush and his personal reasons stem cell research in the US would be way ahead of the rest of the world. The US is not nor is Canada. This is not to say that the research in other parts of the world is not due to researchers from the US. There are some that have left because they knew that research was not going to advance as fast as it should.
I have researched the China Stem cell company a lot and they are not just "after our money" they are real.
There have been enough people that have taken the treatments and benefitted from it. To quote one person from there "each spinal cord injury is different so each result we expect to be different" Trust me when I come back from there I will be a huge advocate of allowing the research to go forward without the right for lifers and the other groups to stop it.
I have started a charity to raise money for high tech wheelchairs in spinal cord rehab facilities it is called The National Wheelchairs in Motion Inc. Charity. When I get back from China I may add the "wheelchairs in motion" to be wheelchairs in motion to China for treatment and raise money for people that cannot afford the $30,000 ticket to get treatment.
