hi as some of you know i am an L1 incomplete and have altered sensation,i do ic's usually about six times a day and use a 12.0mm easicath,i try to be as gentle as possible but what with the frequency i have a constant 'sore' feeling actually in my urethra, this is uncomfortable and at night i sometimes have to squeeze my penis to relieve the stinging feeling, sometimes it feels icy cold to the touch?
i don't think there is a solution for this as ic's are the best option for me,it does however affect sexual relations though cos as you can imagine it is supposed to be a pleasurable experience not uncomfortable,by squeezing it i can feel the urethra and it provides some relief, also my backside is also cold?? does anyone get this?

I also feel very sore to be honest. My urologist recommended dipping the end of the catheter into Instilagel which is a mild anaesthetic, just before insertion. It does help and is worth giving a try. You should be able to get it from your GP, it comes in a syringe which is a bit awkward, best to squirt it into a sterile pot before use.

as for the other problem, have you had a sample tested to see if you have an infection recently? men can get cystitis, although its not so frequent, I do belive its quite uncomfortable. Id get it checked out at least. And give the Instillagel a whirl!

Backside sounds like a nerve thing...

take it easy
