I have a friend who lives in Shorter near Tuskegee. I did some T & G's at Tuskegee Airfield home to the famous TUSKEGEE AIRMEN while I was in the USA doing my PPL.

Hi there Crazy Chicka, My name is Taeyah and I am from birmingham, so far it seems that you and I are the only Alabamians on here. Nice to meet you and welcome to the site!

Hello Taeyah...I live about 60 miles north of the Ham. It's always nice to find people in your area. Thanks for the welcome also. I have been on the site quite a bit just never posted. I am about 7.5 months post injury and finally found a discussion board. Thank you again for the warm welcome!

I attended Tuskegee University and received my degree from there. One of the Tuskegee Airmen worked in the campus laundromat. I would sit and talk with him while my clothes were washing. He told my many stories of his experiences during WWII. Got a chance to learn the history of those fine men long before they finally received national recognition.
I used to visit Shorter almost every weekend and go to the dog races. I won lots of money there...I also lost lots of money there...

I moved to Atlanta from Canada in Dec. but I'm going to Birmingham to the Lakeshore Foundation next week to meet someone to talk about wheelchair racing!
