Hi,
I'm really having problems with freezing cold feet at the moment. It's pretty cold here anyway but even with socks and shoes on, or with my feet all wrapped up in a blanket/thick socks I have freezing ice cold feet all the time. I have ok circulation but my feet are still cold. They are cold even if I stay in all day so its not a problem caused by being ouside in my chair. I can stand pretty well but that doesn't seem to help and the only time my feet seem warm is after a shower. I could try heat pads but have no sensation and don't want to risk hurting them. Any ideas as to how to warm my feet up or is this a common problem I shouldn't worry too much about?
Cheers
Fran

Hi Fran,
You might want to read 2 other topics in the SCI Health Issues & see what has been said there - go to Cold Below a Certain Point and Staying Warm.
It's common; I find that Polartech / Polarfleece fabric works wonders, the snow rated stuff (eg 100, 200, 300 - get something 200 or over). You can get snug soft ankle length slippers made out of it with rubber soles for light outdoor; or socks; or shoes lined with it etc. Go to a USA site like www.SierraTradingPost.com who have lots of cold climate things at great prices.
Hope that helps

When ever there is no snow on the ground, I'll go out biking, and I always wears these socks and they work just great. The socks are sort of thick so you might have to buy a wider shoe.

I hope this helps.

LIFE IS NOT A JOURNEY TO THE GRAVE WITH THE INTENTION OF ARRIVING SAFELY IN A PRETTY AND WELL PRESERVED BODY,
BUT RATHER TO SKID IN BROADSIDE, THOROUGHLY USED UP, TOTALLY WORN OUT, AND LOUDLY PROCLAIMING----WOW----WHAT A RIDE!!!

Regards

Marty

I can vouch for these socks. I wear them with snow boots. One problem I found is that the little connection breaks very easily after repeatedly open and close of battery 'housing'.

I get mine off Ebay (last lot came from the states).
If you don't want to die, your life still has meaning.

Ah yes warmth is very relative to location...and friends of mine from Europe have said the coldest they ever were was in Australia because we have no idea about keeping warm & don't pay it much real attention, have lots of draughts & get very cold in winter - now keeping cool that's our main focus.
Ladypilot your rose & smile signature is very lovely indeed, it made me smile.
