But I as of maybe an hour ago Have moved my toes on my left foot, this is totally amazing to me, was a huge toe wigglying going on but enough to be very noticeable considering i haven't moved them in almost two years.........I am still trying each and ever day every little bit of progress we see is a good sign ?? Am I right or wrong?? Sorry I am just sooooooooooooooo excited OMG :yikes: .........

Just had to share with you all Love and best wishes to all my friends here I will keep you all in my prayers too... MUAHHHHHHHHHH

One toe moving in 2 years ?!?!?!?!

Let's imagine that your toe is 2 cm long ... you have 9 more to go ... so let's say it's going to take you 9 more years ...
Then you'll have to bring strong muscles to everything ... :H2kOther (26):

I think you'd better concentrate on something faster ... :P

ALRIGHT JODIE LYNN!!!

Right after my lamenectomy I was complete about 2" above my belly button. Then I could wiggle my big toe on my left foot. I can move my leg now with some hip flexion. It'll be 3 years for me on St. Patrick's Day and I just noticed a week ago that I can wiggle my big toe a little bit on my right foot after all of this time.

Nerve regeneration is slow when it's to be had. Keep up the good work!!! You know that the increased blood flow and muscle tone is bound to make a huge difference in your progress.

Congratulations, Keep up the hard work...we were told when my son had his accident to be Relativly optimistic...(what ever that means)...Benj was diagnosed as a complete, but after the last visit to the rehab dr. he says we are now an incomplete...Benj is walking with no Braces (just using a cain at this time) and is very hopeful to go back to work SOON...we saw the Spinal Surgeon In Madison on Monday and he himself (and the med students that work with him) were very impressed at how far Ben has come. All things are possible...Keep Focused and soon not only will the toes be moving...next it will be the feet and ankles...WORK HARD!!! Our Prayers are with you.

I remember right after i got hurt and being in the hospital and therapy.Me and this girl not only were both a C/6 incomplete that had feeling,we both arrived the same day into the rehab area.We became friends quite quickly and spent alot of time talking.

Then about 3 weeks into rehab/therapy,she noticed that she could wiggle a toe.It seemed like nearly every day from then on something else moved for her,to the point that she eventually was standing and taking a few steps by the time i left therapy.

The whole time this went on i couldn't help but feel a mix of being so happy for my friend and jealous.I tried to force away that jealous feel, but i guess you can only fight human nature so much.Eventually i was able to shed myself of it and just be happy for her,but it took time.Being around the vent quads made me realize that while my situation sucked ass,it could be worse.

We talked about that briefly and she said she sensed an awkwardness a bit with everyone in rehab because she was the only one looking like she'd recover almost fully.I wish i remembered her name and could find out how she's doing.

:) well done, great news, that's fabulous.

It is true that there are all sorts of emotional complexities for all of us with spinal cord injuries.

I am also sometimes concerned by the feeling of not fitting in because I am incomplete and am walking, I think maybe it is partly that thing called "survivor guilt" especially when there are so many people in so much worse situations dealing with so many more things. It is easy to be sensitive around the differences and to not want to upset anyone with them; but it is a tough journey all round in so many different ways.

You're doing great. Hang in there. Keep on sharing your progress please. It's been good to hear the details. Go girl.

Onwards and upwards. Susie

Who continues to try and move body parts? I really don't ever try but maybe once and great while if I am just relaxing in the recliner or in bed and it occurs to me.

I do find it interesting that it can get you out of breath with just the mental effort.

OK well it has been a bit since I last posted and here I am again, well I can still move those same toes which i am very grateful for, i move my left foot up and down now i can feel the muscles on the inside of my right foot moving just nothing on the outside of it yet unless i hold my foot in a certain position then i can move it up and down as well.. I went in today to get fitted for a GII Knee brace should be in , in about two weeks so they say, my doc seems to think I should maybe be able to walk with out my forearm crutches or maybe just a cane I am hopeful but still don't wanna get them up to high I continue to push forward even though sometimes it seems there are so many things trying to push me back.. I just wana tell everyone again Thank YOu all so much for all the support and encouragement you all have given and continue to give me and everyone else on this forum.. so until next time My Love and Prayers are with you all and may God Bless ecah and everyone of you all..

Jodie Lynn,

You are an inspiration!! I am and will remain a believer that someday I will walk! No matter what the doctors or anyone else tells me. You are living proof that miracles do happen and you should be proud of everything you have accomplished.

Congrats on every inch of movement you have gained! I am so very happy for you!!! :)
